Tar loudspeaker, designed by Seyed Ali Alavi, takes its inspiration from the Persian string instrument "Tar". The word "Tar" means "string" in Persian and this instrument is considered the main root of modern instruments like the guitar and electric guitar. Alavi has ingeniously incorporated the structure of the Tar instrument into the design of the loudspeaker, resulting in a resonance-free enclosure that enhances the quality of sound reproduction.

Equipped with a 10" long-throw woofer and an Air Motion Transfer tweeter, Tar is capable of reproducing the lowest frequencies with high dynamic range and delivering frequencies up to 40Khz, covering the entire human ear frequency range. The Tar loudspeaker project started in Tehran on February 24, 2017, and was completed on the same day at 11:38pm. The design team, led by Seyed Ali Alavi, included Alireza Khansoltani and Arash Najafisefat, who contributed their expertise to overcome the creative, technical, and research challenges faced during the project.

Recognizing the innovative and practical nature of the design, Tar loudspeaker was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Digital and Electronic Device Design category in 2017. This prestigious award is given to designs that meet professional and industrial requirements, integrating industry best practices and competent technical characteristics.
